VO: See kid...ur application seems to be absolutely fine...but there are certain regulations we need to follow...keep ur passport with u for a while...(here my face changed he saw it and said immediately) dont worry kid..im not rejecting u...its only that im giving u a pink form...we need to verify some information...which will take about 2-3 weeks.me: do i have to come again for the interview...
VO: no kid...dont panic or get disheartened....u dont have to come again for an interview..just take the case id and check the status online as soon as u have recieved clearance give ur passport at the VFS in hyd....they will get u ur stamping done...soo cheerup kid...ok..

ME: I scored a 670 on 800 (No response for some time…he was typing something on his PC…and maybe checking something on it as well...that’s when I hinted that I might have got it and my confidence went sky high and suddenly he fired my nightmare question)

I had only applied to one university and many had recommended including my consultant that never to say that u have applied to only one university, stating that the VISA officer might look at u with suspicion as to why is he going only for this particular university, or he may think that u r very lazy. (As I had planned to be completely honest and had prepared for this question thoroughly, here comes my response)
ME: Sir before appearing for my GMAT I knew that my score would be in the range of 600-620 and based on that I had short listed 6 Universities. However Lehigh was my top choice. And the moment I scored a 670 on GMAT, I contacted some of the seniors to get their opinion on my chances of securing an admission at Lehigh. And they replied positively. Hence rather than troubling any of the admission staff at other universities (I made it a point not to mention the cost factor of applying to 6 universities, even though it was the major reason). I chose to apply only to Lehigh University.
VO: Why Lehigh ( I knew this was coming for sure after my previous response, hence I was prepared for this one as well)
Me:- Sir, Being an MBA aspirant for the past one year I knew one thing for sure that if u want your MBA to be worth anything in the corporate world, you have to do it from a reputed and recognized University. And Lehigh carries that reputation (the moment he heard this word the VISA officer rocked back on his chair and stretched his arms, which made me nervous, because I knew that might have heard this a thousand times before, so I knew that I had to cut my answer immediately or I may loose it) for its MBA program and it is recognized as well. And my friend at Lehigh recommended this University to me

ME: Sure sir, Here they are (sliding them under the slit in glass window). He started looking at them very seriously but I knew have completed the forms properly.
VO: So which program are you going for?
ME: Sir, Masters of Business Administration at Illinois Institute of Technology. He looked at me in a flash
VO: What have you done before?
ME: I have B.tech with XXX as major and I passed out in XXX.
VO: can I see your mark sheets?
ME: ya sure sir (handed over to him)
VO: it’s nice; can I see your GMAT Score sheet?
ME: yes sir, handed him over the GMAT and TOEFL score sheets He got lost into my score sheets and started tallying them with his records in computer OK…Please take it (giving me back the score sheets)
VO: Why you want to do MBA?
ME: Sir I have been working for more than 2 years in India and now I wanted to do MBA to get a cutting edge in my career. Moreover I feel privileged to get Admit from IIT Stuart school of Business.
VO: who is sponsoring your education?
ME: sir, my father is sponsoring me.
VO: what is he doing?
ME: He is XXXX in YYYY.
VO: What is your financial position?
ME: Sir my father has XXXX as liquid assets, XXXX as movable assets, XXX as immovable assets
VO: Ok Mr.XXXX I am giving you VISA. You can go now.

Hi Friends, I went for my interview on April 2nd at Chennai.
The interview was not more than 1 min.

VO: So, Why are you going to North Western Polytechnic University?
ME: the university offers good course curriculum in VLSI Designing and after my Bachelor's I have done Advance Diploma in VLSI Designing for 6 months and after that I worked there as a VLSI Project Trainee.
VO: What is your Father?
ME: He is a Central Government Employee.
VO: Ok, you will get your visa in one week.
